The 5 Best Natural Ingredients for Your Beautiful Hair
Care is the key to making hair healthy, strong and beautiful. You don't need to go to a salon or use expensive products, you can use natural ingredients at home to treat your hair.
Honey
Honey is great for moisturizing hair. Not only that, this ingredient can also overcome dandruff problems.
"Honey that sticks to damaged hair areas can moisturize it without feeling sticky," says Francesca Fusco, a dermatologist and clinical assistant professor of dermatology at Wexler Dermatology in New York City.
The European Journal of Medical Research says using honey every two days can clear flaking, itchy scalp and more serious scalp conditions (such as chronic seborrheic dermatitis) within two weeks.
Coconut oil
Coconut oil can make your hair shinier by strengthening it from the outside and the inside.
"Research has shown coconut oil can reduce protein loss that comes from combing and drying hair," says Fusco.
Rosemary
Fusco recommends rosemary oil for patients with hair loss.
"There are studies showing that rosemary can increase hair growth as well as minoxidil, without side effects such as itching," he said.
Simply add a drop or two of rosemary oil to your current shampoo and conditioner bottle.
Avocado Oil
As well as being great for the face, great for toast, avocado oil also has amazing effects on hair.
"Avocado oil is a good source of vitamins B and E, and can be a great conditioner for hair, softening it and giving it an incredible shine," says cosmetic chemist Jim Hammer.
If you have dry or damaged hair, this will help restore strength, moisture and shine. According to Hammer, another plus is that it spreads quickly to coat hair without weighing it down.
Olive oil
Olive oil not only has many uses in the kitchen, it also has many uses for hair.
"Olive oil is very similar to natural oils in the hair and scalp, which help replenish lost oil in damaged dry hair," says Hammer.
You can use it as a pre-shampoo treatment by spraying a small amount of oil on your hair while massaging it from your scalp to the tips of your hair. It's also great as a conditioner.
